Serve Your God and Tear Down The Temples

Written by Tony Richards

no where is it written or etched in stone .... that you yourself ... can not serve God alone
Mass delusion crowds the body's head .... perverting simple words that once were said
see the leaf that's floating to the ground , the bird that lands beside you makes a gentle sound ... THIS IS GOD

serve your God and tear down the temples ( serve your God and tear down the temples)
serve your God and tear down the temples ( serve your God and tear down the temples)

the madness of the multitude ... been lead astray ... prefer a path that's not the way
He never spoke a word that soul should not be free ... He simply said "all walk to Me"
the scheming beast of doubt stepped up to take control .... manipulating simple words that once were meant to GUIDE THE SOUL

serve your God and tear down the temples ( serve your God and tear down the temples)
serve your God and tear down the temples ( serve your God and tear down the temples)

your willingness to stand up with the crowd ... send empty words aloft ... aloud
when silently requesting ... and thanking to the Same
would bring your heart fulfillment ... and re-ignite the flame

release the raging lunatic you keep inside ... for thinking that you know will only feed its pride
and through a silent grace you will be shown ... that you've forgotten more then you have ever know

serve your God and tear down the temples ( serve your God and tear down the temples) serve your God and tear down the temples ( serve your God and tear down the temples) serve your God and tear down the temples ( serve your God and tear down the temples) serve your God and tear down the temples ( serve your God and tear down the temples)

OF MY OWN SELF I CAN DO NOTHING
to all of of Gods children who have not a home
some wisdom from verses of pages in tome
believe in today for tomorrow is stone and dead as in nothing ... value unknown

repeat after me ... Of my own self ... I can do nothing

to all of you kings you shall see the great fall
you'll stagger and fumble and wrestle it all
look deeply inside and stand back from the wall which will not free your cry however loudly you call

repeat after me ...Of my own self ... I can do nothing

your feeble attempt to find your own way
is contrary to the task of the day
for something inside you is trying to say
stop, look and listen

no great plans you make can deliver your soul
no high roads you take will get you there whole
for they're all laid to waste before you've reached goal and and you see what you have you did never controll
and your emptiness is haunting... and your journey home is daunting ...
but the wraith is still left wanting ...

repeat after me ... Of my own self ... I can do nothing
