Now after the Christ who gave me my life
Now after the God who bothered to rescue me from my strife
Now after the Spirit who kept the bond strong between man and wife
Now after this how can i not give you my heart tonight?

Now after the Son who suffered the grave
Now after the God who bothered to send Him to save
Now after His Spirit gave so much hope to the broken and the knave
Now after this how can i not give You my heart tonight?

after the thorns shoved onto Your brow
how can i still remain still even now
after the nails slammed into Your hands and feet
how can my mind stay in the ruins of this street
after the spear shoved deep into Your side
how can i not want to follow Your light
Lord i fall down on my knees at last today
and ask for You to help me find my way

Now after the Son who keeps me mercifully alive
Now after the God of the ark who was bothered to let me even survive
Now after the Spirit who falls on me with grace and no knife
Now after this how can i still want to probe at Your side?

Now after the Son who does not give up and walk
Now after the God who saw through all of my empty talk
Now after the Spirit who helped me at the crossroad take the right fork
Now after this how can i still want to probe at Your side?

after the spit hurled in Your face
how can You keep showing me this grace
after the punches that made Your head a melon
how can You want to look at this felon?
after the kicks savagely aimed at Your guts
why do You still call to me, Lord are You nuts?
after the whip brought down to take great hunks of flesh
how can You still want to free me of this mesh?

Now after the Son who bound Satan in chains
Now after the God whose love over doubt always remains
Now after the Spirit who cleanses me by His water of life that still strains
Now after all this how can i still remain so blind?

Now after the Son who gave me my mum and dad
Now after the God who didn't just desert me for being so bad
Now after the Spirit who brought joy when i was just empty and sad
Now after all this how can i still want to stay so blind
i think its time i open up my mind...
Lord how could You have been so kind...

after the grief i laid on Your bleeding soul
how could you give me breath my family and little Joel?
after the agony i threw on Your back
why are You still bothered to keep away thee devils attack
after the shame i laid on Your shoulders
how come You don't want to leave me to get colder
after the death i laid on Your blameless life
how can You still want to call me Your bride?
