He's Standing Next To Me

There's an old old story that I'd like to tell to you
about a man known as Jesus. He was called the King of Jews.
He was born in a stable for they had no place to stay.
But the wise men knew his glory for a star had lit there way.
When they came into the stable where the baby gently lay,
you could feel his holy presence. They bowed their heads to start to pray.
Where the lamb and sheep were kneeling you could hear the angels sing
for they all had come to worship and praise the newborn king.
As the years passed quickly by him and a man he had became,
he walked the streets teaching glory. Others said it was a shame
that this man would teach of heaven and of God's beloved son
and they all would seek to kill him when he said "I am the one".
For they said he was a liar and he had no proof or right.
So the soldiers came and took him on one dark and lonely night.
For you know he was forsaken. Yes his life had just been sold.
But they didn't pay with diamonds. They wouldn't pay one ounce of gold.
But thirty pieces of silver was the price they paid for him.
The prophets said he died for you and me and all our sins.
On the cross as they hung him and pierced his right side
he stretched his eyes towards heaven, "Father forgive them" was the words he cried.
His disciples preached his rising and his works they soon would see.
They said, "thank God the Son is risen and he's standing next to me".
So thank God the Son is risen and he's standing next to me.
You know I cant reach out and touch him, and his face I cannot see,
but I know I feel is presence and I know he set me free,
so thank God the Son is risen and he's standing next to me.
