My Soul Shall Rise

What a bright golden morning, as the Daystar appears;
In the light of His coming, no more shadows or fears;
With my gaze fixed on Jesus, how the joy overflows
From the beautiful fountain of new life as eternity grows.
And my soul shall rise
On the wings of Your Spirit,
Till I see in Your eyes
What by faith Ive believed;
Oh, the glorious prize
I have come to inherit--
That my soul shall rise
Through the grace Ive received.
In the fire of the noontide through the heat of the day,
Countless sweltering trials beating down on my way,
With my gaze fixed on Jesus, in His strength Ill endure,
As He bore the Cross for me, to command my eternity sure.
And my soul shall rise
On the wings of Your Spirit,
Till I see in Your eyes
What by faith Ive believed;
Oh, the glorious prize
I have come to inherit--
That my soul shall rise
Through the grace Ive received.
When my twilight is fading, my last night drawing near,
And the Jordan before me, swelled by many a tear,
With my gaze fixed on Jesus, Ill not dread to press on,
To His wonderful welcome in the light of eternitys dawn.
And my soul shall rise
On the wings of Your Spirit,
Till I see in Your eyes
What by faith Ive believed;
Oh, the glorious prize
I have come to inherit--
That my soul shall rise
Through the grace Ive received.
