She opens the blinds to look at the day
And it’s clear
But the night’s drawn new lines and painted more gray
In her mirror

She knows he’s out there somewhere
And she hopes that he’s ok
She’s sure she’s done all she could do
And said all she could say
So she closes her eyes and says Lord
Bring some one his way

Maybe that’s you
Maybe it’s you
Maybe you’re the one her restless son
Would stop and listen to
Maybe it’s you
Maybe it’s you
You just never know who God might choose
To answer a prayer thru
Maybe it’s you

She growls as she shakes the formula, the last
Of the can
Yea, she’s made mistakes but she’s doing the best
That she can

She laughs to keep from crying
But she doesn’t do that well
She tries to keep on trying
But it’s getting hard to sell
So she looks up thru tears and says Lord
I sure could use some help

Maybe that’s you
Maybe it’s you
Maybe there’s enough you could give up
To buy her child some food
Maybe that’s you
Maybe it’s you
You just never know who God might choose
To answer a prayer thru
Maybe it’s you

You may feel like you don’t have much to offer
Or maybe God should use someone else instead
It’s true you’re just one
But look what was done
With two fish and five loaves of bread

Maybe it’s you
Maybe it’s you

We’ve been given this command
Love the Lord and our fellow man
Live a life that lends a hand
Walk in faith and in God’s plan

When the darkness needs a light to make it move
Maybe that’s you
